Review: Project partner meeting in Bratislava
On February 10 and 11, 2026, the SYMCRAFT project partners met at the Hotel Devín in Bratislava for a project partner meeting. The aim of the meeting was to inform each other about the current status of the project, discuss results, and agree on the next steps together.
The discussions focused in particular on Work Package 2, which covers the service portfolio and the associated tools. The partners presented the current status of the tools developed and the progress made in the pilot projects. Among other things, they presented the results achieved, newly established partnerships, prototypes developed, and feasibility studies. In addition, the current status of further pilot activities and upcoming milestones were discussed.
Another item on the agenda was devoted to practical examples from the craft and creative sectors. Contributions from the Centre for Folk Art Production and ZIVA Atelier® clearly demonstrated how traditional craftsmanship and circular approaches can contribute to the upcycling of textile waste and how this can be used to create new, marketable products. In addition, communication activities and approaches for the further dissemination and use of the project results were presented.
On the second day, the focus was on analyzing the solutions developed, the expected results, and questions of strategic implementation. In addition, the Steering Committee Meeting took place, at which project management and financial aspects were discussed.
In addition to professional exchanges, a joint social dinner provided an opportunity for informal networking and deepening cooperation within the partnership. The meeting in Bratislava confirmed the partners' shared commitment to innovation, cooperation, and sustainable regional development.
Attention is now turning to the upcoming activities in summer 2026. Among other things, events are planned in Austria at the Textile Centre Haslach, where a series of upcycling workshops will take place as part of the Summer Symposium. All project partners and their companies are cordially invited to actively participate and contribute their experiences.
