PaintingSkillsAcademy (PSA)

Through the creation of the PaintingSkillsAcademy, the qualification in the European painting trade will be sharpened with regard to current and future requirements of the European market.

Following a needs analysis for the painting trade in Europe, qualification standards for training courses are being drawn up for all relevant qualification levels of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). These qualification standards form the basis for training curricula for levels I - V of the European Qualifications Framework. Subsequently, country-specific training curricula will be developed, which include the application of innovative didactic methods of teaching and learning, such as through the use of technologies like virtual and augmented reality. Furthermore, mechanisms of assessment for already acquired competences will be designed and established in order to achieve a better recognition, comparability and classification of the different, country-specific training paths within the European Union.

All these project objectives are implemented with special attention to the transfer of the knowledge and experience gained to other sectors of skilled crafts and trades, so that the painting craft can serve as a best practice example for many other professions in the expansion and improvement of qualifications.
